Not only that but with the opening of this new hotel comes a signature, private-label bourbon, and rye whiskey made in partnership with a well-known nearby distillery. Both are available for purchase by hotel guests.

“We set out to create a place where the essence of Kentucky bourbon is not just tasted, but lived,” Dan Sirrine, General Manager, said.

“Every detail, from our curated bourbon experiences to the warm tones and textures of the design, was made to immerse guests in Bardstown’s history. The Trail Hotel is excited to welcome the world to Kentucky Bourbon Country in a bold new way.”

The restaurant, Oak & Ember, specializes in Southern favorites and Kentucky classics and is paired with a bourbon list that will make the trip worthwhile on its own. The first bar, Embers, is situated in the lobby and accommodates sixty guests. The Bourbon Lounge is a semi-private bourbon library perfect for small groups and tastings. The aptly named Bourbon Vault is a speakeasy hidden behind a piece of artwork. Bourbon Alley is the place for a nice glass of whisky by a calming fire and light fare after a long day. The last bar, Swim Club Bar, is a poolside retreat for fans of whiskey and water.
