Gene Hackman's daughters hire private investigator to discover true cause of death after shocking latest theory

The shocking deaths of Hollywood legend Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa have taken a dark turn as the couple's daughters, Elizabeth and Leslie Hackman, reportedly hired a private investigator to uncover what they suspect may be a murder-and a possible cover-up.

While authorities maintain the deaths were natural, new disturbing evidence and growing frustration within the family have reignited questions about what really happened inside the couple's Santa Fe compound.

Gene Hackman, the iconic actor known for roles in The French Connection and Unforgiven, died on February 17 at the age of 95.

His wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, 65, was found dead six days earlier. Investigators concluded that Arakawa died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare illness often linked to rodent exposure, and suggested Hackman may have succumbed to confusion and despair in the days that followed-exacerbated by his declining health and Alzheimer's disease. But Hackman's daughters aren't convinced.

Suspicious behavior before deaths fuels family's doubts

According to new reporting by RadarOnline.com, disturbing new claims surfaced from Arakawa's hairstylist, identified only as Christopher, who shared chilling accounts with investigators.

In newly released bodycam footage, Christopher recalled that Arakawa appeared "frazzled" in the weeks leading up to her death and voiced concerns about a man who was allegedly stalking the couple.

"She mentioned to me that there was a man that had parked outside of their gate and followed them on two separate occasions," Christopher stated.

He also described how the man was reportedly carrying a folder filled with photos of Hackman, asking for autographs-behavior that made Arakawa feel watched and uneasy. When she confronted the man and told him to show more respect, he vanished-only to resurface again another day.

During that second encounter, the man allegedly followed the couple to a different location and offered them a bottle of wine, which they declined. While the incidents might appear harmless at face value, Arakawa was clearly disturbed by the man's persistence.

Now, Elizabeth and Leslie Hackman are determined to get to the truth. According to entertainment insider Rob Shuter, the daughters have "lost faith in the authorities" and believe the investigation may have overlooked critical evidence or downplayed potential foul play.

"This doesn't add up," one source close to the family said. "It feels like someone is trying to cover something up - and Gene's daughters will not rest until the truth is revealed."
